Kunst / ArtPosted by Rob Thursday, February 11 2010 18:16:14 Twenty years ago Nelson Mandela was set free. Set free after he was in prison for over 27 year. I watched him on television, walking towards freedom. I cried big tears of happiness. Yesterday on the radio they did broadcast the speech of president of South Africa (in 1990) de Klerk announcing they would set Nelson Mandela free. Once again I felt the emotions of that moment, and had to cry again of happiness. What a special man, Madiba. Only a view people alive who can measure with him.
I received this note in my mailbox. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Come see the exhibits (Photos, Artwork and Video) celebrating Nelson
Mandela's life before and after his release from prison 20 years ago.
on 11 February, 1990.
The attached poster has more information and an LM. Please rez for others to see!
I still keep the newspaper article, of which Fimi was so proud, with a candle on my land as a memorial. There is no special reson why I write this piece now, besides that I got a note saying "Park Galleries is a group of galleries showing a variety of both fine and affordable art in Second Life (tm)."
Friends of her keeping her work and gallery alive. Let's have a look.
When I arive at the gallery I notice that they kept most of the building as it was. Of course there is a memorial place for Fimi. Donation boxes for the batle against cancer.
Here is the rest of the note which was send out.
"Founded originally by Angel Enoch, it was purchased by the late Artistic Fimicoloud in early 2007. After her death in May 2007 the management of the galleries was taken over by Samara Barzane and Treminari Huet.
The work of Park Artists is varied in its style and media, yet all reflecting a deep dedication to art and its presence in Second Life (tm)
We are proud to extend our reach to the Fleur sim, at the invitation of CJ Carnot and Roslin Petion, the talented creators of the widest variety of skins on the grid.
So as it looks like, there has been an extention. However when I tried to go there (the first SLURL) it said that the region was not longer there. So it could be a glitch of SL. I will investigate that later :-)
The original gallery exists of a number of small rooms where several artists show and sell their art. Beneath is one.
And another, as you can see immidiatly the art shown there is very various and worth to have a look and maybe buy some.

Ever since I got a the age where I could develope a carier I wanted to go to Africa. To help, it never got to that. You run into someone, get kids... you know how this goes..... no regrets. When I go in there is knowbody at the desk to welcome me. But that doesn't matter I find my own way. Maybe that welcoming is a job for me. Sitting there just do nothing
browse the internet the whooooooooole day. Neeeehh think not. Walking aroud in the gallery I did see some nice art You can change the music too if you are there, just push the blue button thingy. And hé I am not alone, a beautifull young woman.
On the second floor there is a nice room the chill and a fireplace. And here my hero Nelson Mandela.
When I look at the website, (mentioned above) Uthango is like in the spirit of Nelson Mandela.
Quoting there site: "Uthango Social Investments is a unique investment company based in Cape
Town, South Africa and registered legally as a public benefit
organisation. We specialize in social innovation to implement best
practices in sustainable development. We work in remote communities and
in under-resourced urban areas to alleviate poverty in lasting ways and
improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable in society." "Of topic" on this picture I am wearing a shirt I made, it is to find Madaleine. I allready wrote something about this. But I want to write about it again. If you want a shirt like this. Send me an IM. Here we are at a poster where you can find info on how to donate to their causes. Overall a nice building for a good goal.
Kunst / ArtPosted by Rob Wednesday, June 27 2007 21:08:00 Not sure where to put this subject, so I put it under art. Baron Grayson I never spoke to the guy but he seems like a real artist. If you look in his profile under pictures you can see what he is doing.
I lot heared complain is "there is so little tough men-clothing". Looking for some good jeans I found (on a lead of a very good friend) I found the first place of Baron. "Main Shop/RELIC - est. 2004-"
A quick look at his website shows he is a very versatile man. http://MyTryst.net
Also this place has a lot of surprises, I recommand you just to go
there and spend some time just to explore the place. It has a lot of
hidden places and surprises. Looking at this picture the sign says "
don't forget upstairs. The stairs are somewhere" So..... Explore it!!
He has 9 pictures in his profile leading to his shops, picture 6 and 7 called shoplet 3 and 4 lead to a shop where you can get 19th century fences and another shop where you can buy trees.
I am scratching myself behind my ears. Is there anything this Baron doesn't do? Anyway it is no wonder because he is in SL since ... uhm... forever.
He whattisthis a a sheep in problems. When I touch it I get haggis. Being a vegetarian I refused. I heared about vegetarian haggis but I am sure this isn't. Overall this is a sim where you should go. And spent some time. This guy really made some awsome stuff. And I bought some really nice jeans there.
After visiting the "Native Education Center" I went searching for more Indian related second life stuff :-)
Red Rock Mesa
Beneath you see an indian art shop. Click on the picture to get the SLURL.
One object I wanted to show more clearly. "Sure you can trust the ............"
Don't forget to listen to the music here. You will get some real indian music!
Not far from there is another shop where you can buy indian carpets. You walk there but you can also use the SLURL by clicking the picture beneath.
Anyway, if you visit this location, explore it! It has lots of nice things to offer.
Gualala
There is also a real indian village in SL. See the welcome board beneath. (Click on the picture to get the SLURL)
So, respecting the village I went to have a look. First there is a small bridge of which I wondered if it could keep my 110 kg. But it went ok so don't worry. :-)
THe village looks as if the people had to break away. There where campfires everywhere and there was even a pig on a fire.
But no indians, a there is the reason why nobody is here, there is a ghostwolf in the village. I've seen the wolf going through wall several times.
Hmm should I go into the house? Well I am so curious so I go in. Very nice!! So this is a bit how they lived.
Very nice made SIM. Have a look but as said respect there privacy.
