second life tips en tricksPosted by Rob Monday, August 20 2007 00:13:47I get a lot of questions about crashing SL-clients. There is a lot of things which can cause this. Yesterday I got a great tip from Barnowlgirl which I want to share with you.
The issue is that the longer you are a resident the more overloaded gets your inventory. If your inventory has more then 5000 items you need to reduce. On this website they show an item which can help you.
http://thincsl.com/category/products/inventory-box-organizer/It is a box where you put like a 100 items in from your inventory. Then delete the items from your inventory and if the box is full take it back in your inventory.

Ha, Because sometimes I just wanna be alone and be left in peace in SL, I made an second avatar. When I was born the first time in sl in december last year, you where just born and thrown to the sharks :-)
This time when my alt was born I had to walk a couple of rounds on tutorial island. You are born with a HUD attachment which tells you what to do and asks you to perform certain actions. This is to get you ready for the mainland.
LOL omdat ik soms in SL ga en alleen gelaten wil worden omdat ik dan dingen kan uitzoeken, heb ik een tweede avatar gemaakt. Toen ik in december vorig jaar geboren werd, werd je gewoon voor de haaien gegooit.
Deze keer toen mijn alt geboren werd moest ik eerst een paar rondjes lopen op tutorial eiland. Ik werd geboren met een HUD attachment. Deze HUD vertelt je wat je moet doen en stelt je vragen en geeft opdrachten. Dit alles is om je klaar te stomen voor het mainland.
As you can see the HUD has 4 section, these sections represent a part of the tutorial island. You have to visit all four sections. In these sections you have to do three assignments. If you complete the assignments you get a passport for the mainland. And you can leave the tutorial island.
In your inventory is a landmark for help island. It could be that you have to click on the mainland passport to get the landmark. This is where the mainland starts, or maybe not mainland but from there you are free to go where ever you want.
Zoals je kan zien heeft de HUD 4 delen, deze delen horen allemaal bij een gedeelte van het tutorial eiland. Je moet allevier de gedeeltes bezoeken. En in alle delen moet je drie vragen beantwoorden of opdrachten doen. Als je alles hebt gedaan krijg je een passport voor het mainland. En ben je vrij om tutorial eiland te verlaten.
In je inventaris zit een landmark om naar help island te gaan. Het kan zijn dat je eerst op het mainland paspoort moet klikken. Help island is waar het mainland begint. Of misschien niet mainland maar vanaf daar ben je vrij om te gaan en staan waar je wilt.

En ik beloof jullie allemaal ik ga jullie niet voor de gek houwen met mijn alt. Als we elkaar ontmoeten ga ik gewoon vertellen wie ik ben.

Help Island will be your home location, so everytime you logon you will logon there (if you choose to logon to your home location). If you want a nice newby friendly place to logon come to our place and set your home there.

Help eiland word je home locatie, dus elke keer als je inlogt zal je daar inloggen (als je kiest om in te loggen op je home location). Als je een leuke newby vriendelijke plaats zoek om kom dan naar onze mall, daar kan je je home locatie zetten.

Tja Money trees, newbies kunnen er geld plukken van een boom. Lachen dus. Ik heb er wat tijd ingestoken en eigenlijk wil ik er zelf één in mijn tuin, in RL dat is.
In onze mall (van Narda et Moi) vind je in het minden een bord notecard waar je er meer over te weten komt. De notecard leidt naar een HUD attachment die weer de weg wijst naar alle geldbomen in SL.

Money trees, newbies can get money from a tree. Very funny. I spend some time to sort this one out and honestly I wish I would have one in my garden in RL.
In our mall (Narda's and mine) you will find right in the middle a board where you can get a notecard which shows you the way to a HUD attachment with which you can find all the money trees in SL.

Hieronder zie je er één. Toen ik ervan hoorde was ik al te oud. Ik heb voor mijn huis een doos gezet met landmarks. Ik heb niet alle lm's gecontroleerd. Deze doos heb ik een keer ergens gevonden als freebie of hij zat standaard in mijn inventaris toen ik werd "geboren"
